Architects Matthew Johnson and Jason Logan have entered their Desert Cloud design in Dubai’s Land Art Generator Initiative competition.

Desert Cloud is a series of net-like structures suspended between [sculptural concrete piers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/piloti-canopy). The net-like structures are fitted with alternating glass prisms and photovoltaic panels that refract light and gather [solar energy](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/eo-canopy). The result is a beautiful, [energy-producing light-bending structure](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arc-zero) that shimmers above the desert floor like a mirage and offers shade to those who walk beneath it.
