# Fold-Flat Workstations The Der Vorstand is a Unfolding Workstation for Tight Spaces By Elena Rahman | Published 2021-08-17 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/der-vorstand References: [core77](https://www.core77.com/posts/109725/Space-Saving-Work-From-Home-Solution-A-Fold-Flat-Pull-Out-Workstation?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed:+core77/blog) & [moormann.de](https://www.moormann.de/cms/en/project/der-vorstand/) German furniture designer Nils Holger Moormann created the ideal [work-from-home workstation solution](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mespace-workstation) called the Der Vorstand. Its name comes from the German term for 'the board,' which insinuates its structural shape — ideal for [small spaces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/humanscale-float-micro) or those who want to tuck away the work-life during the weekends. When unfolded, the Der Vorstand creates a [wall behind the user](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wall-desk-1). This helps prevent glare on the screen from the windows and obscures the user's living space for work-related video chats. Seeing as video calls have become the norm for most companies over the last year and a half, this feature is highly welcomed into the home-office setup. Additionally, optional curtains can be used to block glare from the sides or for more privacy.
