The new renovations define the home with new visual updates including the green fiber-cement that seamlessly blends in with the trees. This project expands the home, which was first built in the 1920s right in Los Angeles' [historic Highland Park community](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/highland-park-residence). It is home to a designer and an artist who live with their three children -- one of which has just left for college. A main focus was to integrate the home with the site that it rests on in a spatial and visually conscious approach. The new volume rests under the main level in a smooth flow that blends the communal space with the backyard together.
