# Volcanic Expedition Photography Photographer Denis Budkov Captures a Fiery Landscape By Meghan Young | Published 2014-01-13 | Fashion Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/denis-budkov References: [fubiz.net](http://www.fubiz.net/en/2014/01/10/edge-of-a-volcano/) & [1x](http://1x.com/member/119867) The [photographic works](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/all-within-the-detour) of Denis Budkov go hand-in-hand with his love of [adventuring](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rose-boreal). Embarking on an expedition to the [volcanic complex](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/black-butte-ranch) Plosky Tolbachik, which are located on the Kamchatka Peninsula in the far east of Russia. As though on a different planet completely (the images depict what people probably envision the surface of Mars to look like), Denis Budkov captures everything from thick white smoke to red skies and, of course, fiery grounds. What makes Denis Budkov's images even more interesting is that he doesn't just focus on his surroundings, but the context of his team and the volcano they are exploring. In a way, Denis Budkov looks as though he were part of a special research group in a sci-fi flick. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.3/10 - Popularity: 77% | Activity: 43% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Fashion](https://www.trendhunter.com/fashion) > [Photography](https://www.trendhunter.com/stylephotography) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Volcanic Expedition Photography:** The trend of capturing stunning imagery of volcanic landscapes through expeditions is growing and can be capitalized by tour operators, adventure photographers, and documentary makers. - **Extreme Adventure Tourism:** As people continue to seek adventure, tourism industries can capitalize on extreme tourism such as volcano trekking in remote locations like Kamchatka Peninsula in Russia. - **Expeditionary Science Communication:** With the rise of social media, there is an opportunity for science communicators to join expeditionary teams and document their experiences and discoveries on volcanic complex such as Plosky Tolbachik. ### Who This Affects Most - **Tourism Industry:** Tour operators can leverage the growing demand for adventure tourism by offering volcanic expeditions to remote locations such as the Kamchatka Peninsula in Russia. - **Photography Industry:** Adventure photographers and documentary makers can make use of their expedition experience and capture stunning imagery of volcanic complex Plosky Tolbachik. - **Science Communication Industry:** Science communicators can join expeditionary teams to document and share the physical features, landscape, and other interesting discoveries about volcanic complex Plosky Tolbachik on various social media platforms. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Volcanic Visitor Architecture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/plat-asia.md) - [Painting-Immersive Photo Exhibits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/new-ground-exhibition.md) - [Volcanic-Themed Light Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/stone-archive.md) - [Dramatic Doomsday Bunker Images](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/alastair-philip-wiper.md) - [Festive Light Painting Techniques](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/light-painting-1.md) - [Volcanic Stone Lighting](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/foscarini-lava-lamps.md) - [Extreme Environment Photographer Packs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lowepro-photosport-x-backpack.md) - [AI Travel Photography](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/epic-ai-travel-photos.md) - [Customized Volcano-Monitoring Drones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/littleraven.md)
