The garden-centric outdoor lighting can be wrapped around tree trunks, or planted into the ground around seating areas. Their appearance is designed to look accidental, propping themselves up in a seemingly random manner, which best resembles the natural growth of mushrooms. Some of the lights in the [unique collection](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sculptural-lighting-designs) include an [outdoor chandelier](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/blossom-chandelier), and a cluster of small, planted lights designed to surround the base of a tree. All of the designs look like folded paper, and provide light while remaining calming, subtle and muted. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.8/10 - Popularity: 32% | Activity: 13% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Organism-inspired Lighting Design:** There is a disruptive innovation opportunity to create lighting designs that mimic the shapes and forms found in nature, such as mushrooms. - **Flexible and Adaptable Outdoor Lighting:** There is a disruptive innovation opportunity to develop outdoor lighting solutions that can be wrapped around tree trunks or planted into the ground, providing customizable and adaptable lighting options. - **Calming and Subtle Lighting Concepts:** There is a disruptive innovation opportunity to design lighting concepts that are calming, subtle, and muted, providing an ambient and relaxing atmosphere. ### Where This Applies - **Lighting Design:** The lighting design industry can explore new approaches inspired by the shapes and forms found in nature, creating unique and visually appealing lighting products. - **Outdoor Furniture and Decor:** The outdoor furniture and decor industry can incorporate flexible and adaptable lighting solutions into their products, enhancing the ambiance and functionality of outdoor spaces. - **Interior Design:** The interior design industry can incorporate calming and subtle lighting concepts to create tranquil and relaxing environments for residential and commercial spaces. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Mushroom-Inspired Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/humble-lights.md) - [Nature-Inspired Lighting Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/biomes-lighting.md) - [Biophilic Garden Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/digital-organism-lights.md) - [Stunning Mushroom-Shaped Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mushroomshaped-table-lamp.md) - [Plant Pod-Inspired Pendant Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nature-inspired-pendant-light.md) - [Mushroom-Inspired Sleek Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lunar-lamp-concept.md) - [Sand Dune-Inspired Sculptural Lighting](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dune-light.md) - [Garden-Filled Ceiling Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/olev-silence-lamp-collection.md) - [Experimental Ancestral Lighting Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kawabi.md)
