# Faster Airport Security Checks Delta Innovation Lanes Hopes to Solve the Issue of Long Wait Times By Meghan Young | Published 2016-06-02 | World Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/delta-innovation-lanes References: [fastcodesign](http://www.fastcodesign.com/3060406/we-need-these-delta-fast-lanes-at-every-airport-immediately) & [thenextweb](http://thenextweb.com/insider/2016/05/29/deltas-innovation-lines/) Checking in for a flight can be a nightmare, especially when it comes to going through security, but the [Delta](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/simulated-air-travel) Innovation Lanes hopes to change all of that. instead of pointing fingers every time something goes wrong -- like when 1,000 [American Airlines](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/thirteen-lune-and-american-airlines) customers missed their flights earlier this year due to long [TSA](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/clear) checkpoint waits -- this airline aims to make a difference. Through the Delta Innovation Lanes, people will be able to take advantage of a "parallel process." This means that they don't have to follow their bags and shoes as they go through the conveyor belt. Instead, as soon as they're ready they can bypass any slower individuals and go straight through to the body scan. This could alleviate the backup immediately. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.4/10 - Popularity: 54% | Activity: 39% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [World](https://www.trendhunter.com/world) > [Travel](https://www.trendhunter.com/travel) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Parallel Process Security:** Delta Innovation Lanes introduces a parallel process for airport security checks, allowing individuals to bypass slower passengers and proceed directly to the body scan, reducing wait times. - **Efficient Security Checkpoint:** The Delta Innovation Lanes aim to solve the issue of long wait times at airport security checkpoints by implementing a more efficient process for passengers. - **Streamlined Airport Procedures:** The introduction of the Delta Innovation Lanes streamlines airport procedures, ensuring a faster and smoother experience for travelers. ### Where This Applies - **Airline Industry:** The airline industry can adopt the Delta Innovation Lanes to revolutionize airport security processes and improve customer satisfaction. - **Travel Industry:** Incorporating the Delta Innovation Lanes into the travel industry can enhance the overall travel experience and attract more customers. - **Technology Solutions Providers:** Technology solutions providers can collaborate with airlines to develop innovative systems like the Delta Innovation Lanes, creating disruptive advancements in airport security. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [AI-Backed Airport Lanes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/clear.md) - [Airport Authentication Technology](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/abu-dhabi-airports.md) - [Digital Airline Tags](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/digital-bag-tags.md) - [Simulated Air Travel Experiences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/simulated-air-travel.md) - [Personalized Airport Assistance](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/skipq.md) - [High-Performance Travel Seating](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/departures-seating.md) - [Checkout-Free Concession Lanes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/zippin-lane.md) - [Contactless Airport Shops](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/airport-shop.md) - [Elevated In-Flight Menus](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/delta-airlines-1.md)
