While there are currently [transdermal patches on the market](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/brainpower-patches) that provide instant caffeine injections, these products are largely irritating and uncomfortable to wear. This [FDA](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cala-kiq)-approved device provides an alternative for those who don't have time for an extra shot of espresso. Joule is a durable silicon bracelet that delivers caffeine directly into the body for steady absorption. Unlike the patch, Joule is placed in a high blood flow area without much fat resistance. This allows the caffeine to be absorbed into the bloodstream without the sticky and uncomfortable feeling that comes from wearing a patch. In total, the bracelet delivers 65mg of caffeine, which is the equivalent of a medium cup of coffee. The company is currently running an [Indiegogo](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/emeterm-smart) campaign to bring the bracelet to caffeine-deficient consumers everywhere. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.1/10 - Popularity: 56% | Activity: 90% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Gadgets](https://www.trendhunter.com/gadgets) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Caffeine-delivery Wearables:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop wearable devices that deliver caffeine to the bloodstream, providing an alternative to traditional caffeine consumption methods. - **Non-invasive Transdermal Caffeine Delivery:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Create transdermal patches or devices that deliver caffeine to the body without causing irritation or discomfort. - **Bioactive Substance Infusion Technology:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop technology for the controlled infusion of bioactive substances, such as caffeine, into the bloodstream through wearable devices. ### Where This Applies - **Wearable Technology:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Explore the development of wearable devices that enhance caffeine delivery for improved alertness and energy. - **Health and Wellness:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Innovate in the health and wellness industry by creating non-invasive methods for delivering bioactive substances with precision and comfort. - **Consumer Goods:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Introduce new consumer products that offer alternative ways to consume caffeine, targeting individuals with busy lifestyles or time constraints. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Neuroscience-Backed Energy Patches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/feelzing-energy-patch.md) - [Groundbreaking Caffeine Technology Innovations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/caffeine-technology.md) - [Novel Caffeine-Delivery Formats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/novel-caffeinedelivery-format.md) - [Pouch-Style Caffeine Supplements](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/energy-pouches.md) - [Caffeinated Mouth Sprays](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mouth-spray.md) - [Rapid Absorption Coffee Chews](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/youchews-caffeine-chew.md) - [Wearable Drug Delivery Patches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wearable-injector.md) - [Soothing Sleep Tracker Wearables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/alarm-bracelet.md) - [Caffeinated Alternative Energy Pouches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mojo-balanced-energy-pouches.md)
