# Deep Sea Funerals Mondial Boasts Another Way to Scatter the Ashes of Loved Ones By Kalin Ned | Published 2024-02-28 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/deep-sea-funeral References: [mondial.tokyo](https://mondial.tokyo/shinkaisou/) Mondial, a Tokyo-based creative agency has developed a [Deep Sea Funeral](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/worlds-largest-ocean-dispute) service as a unique and environmentally friendly approach to laying loved ones to rest. The offering draws inspiration from the tranquility and beauty of the ocean. The Deep Sea Funeral concept centers around placing [cremated remains in a clione-shaped urn](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/eternal-playlist-urn) made from naturally derived materials. The urn will eventually dissolve into the sea, symbolically returning the deceased to the source of life. Mondial has chosen Suruga Bay, with its deep and mysterious ocean floor, for the location of this service, adding a poetic element to the ceremony. Individuals will also receive a deep sea burial certificate and the option for a [digital grave marker](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/virtual-memorials) with personal photos and avatars. These two options further personalize the deep sea burial experience and offer something tangible to the family of the deceased.
