There are numerous tape designs out there that are available in fun colors, prints and patterns, but this one reads like a more welcoming version of crime tape, offering a cheery warning. The kraft paper tape is durable enough to seal [cardboard boxes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/redesigned-retail-packaging), but it's also easily ripped by hand so that recipients can get at those pretty things inside the box. Rather than packaging something with clear packing tape, or adorning simple [kraft paper wrapping](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/innovative-packaging-solution), this is a fun way to dress up a gift in a simple and affordable way that works for any season. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.9/10 - Popularity: 36% | Activity: 74% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 10% men, 90% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Decorative Packing Tape:** Using decorative packing tape to enhance the gifting experience by offering a hint at the contents of a box before it is opened. - **Fun Colors, Prints, and Patterns:** Creating a variety of tape designs in fun colors, prints, and patterns to add a cheerful touch to gift wrapping. - **Kraft Paper Tape:** Developing durable yet easily torn kraft paper tape for sealing boxes and adding a simple and affordable way to dress up gifts. ### Where This Applies - **Packaging Industry:** Offering innovative and unique decorative packing tape options to enhance the gifting experience. - **Craft and DIY Industry:** Creating a range of fun colors, prints, and patterns in decorative packing tape to meet the needs of craft and DIY enthusiasts. - **Retail Industry:** Providing kraft paper tape as an alternative packaging option for retailers to offer their customers an eco-friendly and affordable gift wrapping solution. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Bread-Themed Wrapping Paper Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bakermee.md) - [Water Brand Wrapping Paper](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/liquid-death-wrapping-paper.md) - [Festively Painted Toilet Paper](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bim-bam-boo-jingle-rolls-toilet-paper.md) - [Water-Soluble Wrapping Paper](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/birthday-gift-wrap.md) - [Simplified Fastener Packs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/color-coded-packaging.md) - [Tape Crafting Kits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nano-tape.md) - [Eco-Friendly Wrapping Papers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dissolvable-gift-wrap.md) - [Branded Holiday Gifting Suites](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/holiday-gifting-suite.md) - [Treasure Box-Inspired Wellness Packaging](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/redesigned-retail-packaging.md)
