# Relaxing Summer Patio Furniture Brendan Ravenhill's Deck Chair Design Features a Bottle Opener By Joey Haar | Published 2018-03-07 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/deck-chair-design References: [design-milk](https://design-milk.com/brendan-ravenhill-expands-outdoor-furniture-collection-with-loll-designs/) In the summer, people need do little more than sit outside to have a grand old time, and a new deck chair design from Brendan Ravenhill and [Loll Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lago-lounge-chair) recognizes that simple pleasure. The patio furniture helps people to get up out of their seat as infrequently as possible, incorporating everything that they might need within arm's reach. Depending on one's perspective, the key feature behind Ravenhill and Loll's deck chair design will vary. Many will be drawn in by the ergonomic tilt of the chair's seat and back, or the simple layout of the accompanying [side table and ottoman](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/espattio-platero-rocking-table). Many others, though, will appreciate the chair's hidden feature: a bottle opener built into the underside of the right armrest. This means that, with a cooler nearby, people truly need not get up for hours at a time. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.2/10 - Popularity: 97% | Activity: 50% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/furniture) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Ergonomic Outdoor Furniture:** Opportunities for disruptive innovation in ergonomic design for outdoor furniture. - **Multifunctional Patio Furniture:** Opportunities for disruptive innovation in incorporating multiple functions in patio furniture. - **Convenient Outdoor Accessories:** Opportunities for disruptive innovation in creating convenient accessories for outdoor activities. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Outdoor Furniture Manufacturing:** Opportunities for disruptive innovation in manufacturing ergonomic and multifunctional outdoor furniture. - **Consumer Electronics:** Opportunities for disruptive innovation in integrating technology with outdoor accessories. - **Beverage Industry:** Opportunities for disruptive innovation in creating innovative beverage-related accessories for outdoor activities. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Sustainable Hi-Rise Outdoor Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lollygagger.md) - [Modernized Phone-Friendly Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/auburn-adirondack-chair.md) - [Modernized Water-Friendly Outdoor Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/soleil-adirondack-chair.md) - [Minimal Outdoor Lounge Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bask-lounge.md) - [Durable Designer Outdoor Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/breeo-x-series-chair.md) - [Contemporary Quick-Dry Patio Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/garden-lounge-chair.md) - [Versatile Beach Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/versatile-beach-chair.md) - [Collaborative Cottage Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/finer-recliner.md) - [Outdoor Scandinavian Seating Solutions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bste-lounge-chair.md)
