# Motion-Enhanced Cinema Seats The D-Box Seats Make Movie-Viewing More Immersive By Rahul Kalvapalle | Published 2015-07-14 | Tech Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dbox References: [crainscleveland](http://www.crainscleveland.com/article/20150210/BLOGS03/150219981/in-theaters-soon-motion-enhanced-movies-courtesy-of-cinemark-d-box) & [d-box](http://www.d-box.com/) These immersive movie theater seats, developed by Canadian company D-Box Technologies Inc., aims to make the cinematic experience more realistic and immersive than ever before. These seats essentially produce highly realistic immersive motion effects. For example, if there's a scene in the movie involving airplane turbulence, the uncomfortable experience can be simulated in the seat. On-screen explosions will cause your seat to move, making you feel like you're a part of the movie rather than a viewer looking in from the outside. While it is certainly true that certain movies are centered around dialogue and drama rather than plain visuals or high-tech effects, the immersive D-Box seats will make the viewing experience richer and more memorable when it comes to action movies and science fiction flicks. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.5/10 - Popularity: 24% | Activity: 43% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Multimedia](https://www.trendhunter.com/multimedia) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Immersive Cinema Experience:** The development of motion-enhanced cinema seats offers an immersive experience that brings viewers closer to the action and enhances the overall cinema experience. - **Realistic Motion Simulation:** The use of motion effects in cinema seats allows for realistic simulation of movements and physical sensations, creating a more engaging and interactive movie-watching experience. - **Enhanced Movie Engagement:** The integration of motion-enhanced seats in movie theaters enhances viewer engagement by creating a more memorable and captivating experience, especially for action movies and science fiction genres. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Entertainment Technology:** The motion-enhanced cinema seats present disruptive innovation opportunities in the entertainment technology industry, allowing for the development of new immersive experiences and technologies to enhance movie-watching. - **Film Exhibition:** The adoption of motion-enhanced cinema seats by movie theaters presents disruptive innovation opportunities in the film exhibition industry, providing a unique selling point to attract viewers and differentiate from competitors. - **Virtual Reality:** The technology used in motion-enhanced cinema seats intersects with the virtual reality industry, offering potential for new applications and advancements in virtual reality experiences through the integration of physical and virtual sensations. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Collaborative Gaming Chair Hybrids](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/motion-1.md) - [Comfortable Theater Seat Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/comfortable-theater-seat.md) - [Haptic Feedback Seat Cushions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/beatsgear-x.md) - [Virtual Reality Gameplay Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/explorer.md) - [Haptic Feedback Gaming Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cooler-master-synk-x.md) - [Game-Connected Desk Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/razer-enki-pro-hypersense.md) - [Olfactory Entertainment Devices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/moviescent.md) - [Landscape Seating Theater Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cinema-visiona.md) - [Suspenseful Statement Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/edgeofyr.md)
