# Cushioned Table Surfaces The Daydreamer Desk by Nick DeMarco Lets People Work in Comfort By Meghan Young | Published 2013-02-04 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/daydreamer-desk References: [neatorama](http://www.neatorama.com/2013/02/01/Daydreamer-Desk/) & [demarconia](http://www.demarconia.com/) With more power comes more responsibility and, let's face it, more sleepiness, which the Daydreamer Desk addresses. It boasts an invitingly [cushioned surface](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/living-collection) that still allows work to get done while also addressing the needs of the body. Whether it becomes the focal point for an actual daydreamer or a practical necessity for hard workers, the Daydreamer Desk puts the health of the person before anything else. Designed by Nick DeMarco, a designer based in New York City, the Daydreamer Desk is rather simple despite its fun aesthetic. The true draw is the soft surface. Nevertheless, minimalists will appreciate the [clean lines and basic color palette](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arnardo-desk) of blue and brown. Complete it with an [ergonomic chair](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/calma-lounge-by-layer), and the Daydreamer Desk could rival a bed. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.3/10 - Popularity: 78% | Activity: 73% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Cushioned Workspaces:** Creating comfortable work surfaces that prioritize the well-being of the user while still allowing productivity. - **Health-conscious Design:** Incorporating ergonomic features and soft surfaces into furniture design to promote physical well-being during work. - **Blurring Work and Comfort:** Integrating elements of comfort and relaxation into workspaces to enhance overall productivity and creativity. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Furniture Manufacturing:** Opportunities for creating innovative workstations and desks with cushioned surfaces. - **Office Equipment:** Developing ergonomic chairs and accessories that complement cushioned work surfaces. - **Home Office Solutions:** Designing comfortable workspaces for remote workers that combine practicality with relaxation. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Hyper-Customizable Desks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hypercustomizable-desk.md) - [Ultra-Organized Work Desks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/desk-for-students.md) - [Minimalist Storage-Friendly Desks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-bold-desk.md) - [Elegant Working Desk Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mindset-builtin-computer-desk.md) - [Sustainable Ergonomic Lap Desks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lapod-lap-desk.md) - [Sleek Storage-Packed Workstations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/threesix-desk.md) - [Yoga-Inspired Workstations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lunadesk1.md) - [Minimalist Modular Creative Workstations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/note-desk.md) - [Soft-Sided Cocoon Desks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/buddyhub-desk.md)
