# Cloud-Cushioned Couches A Rest on the Kulle Daybed is Like Sleeping Up High in the Sky By Gil Cohen | Published 2013-08-16 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/daybed References: [uncannyflats](http://uncannyflats.com/id-nap-on-that-kulle-daybed/) & [design-milk](http://design-milk.com/kulle-daybed-by-stefanie-schissler/) Designed to offer as much comfort as possible in a compressed space, the Kulle Daybed by Stefanie Schissler is inspired by the [fluffy softness of clouds](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pillo-sofa). The designer herself describes the lounger as providing users with "cozy feelings of safety and relaxation," in addition to fantasies of sleeping amongst the clouds in heaven which is what I would imagine it feels like to sleep on such a [plush sofa](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/knoll-perron-pillo). The demure gray cushioning with the pale wooden base makes this piece seem right at home in an office, so that stressed workers can take a regenerating cat nap when they need it most. Sculptural and visually appealing with its bubble-like design, the Kulle Daybed offers a relaxing and luxurious sleep. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.5/10 - Popularity: 75% | Activity: 53% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Cloud-inspired Furniture:** Designing furniture inspired by the look and feel of clouds presents an opportunity for companies to create unique and visually appealing pieces that evoke feelings of comfort and relaxation. - **Compressed Space Comfort:** As living spaces continue to shrink in urban areas, there is an opportunity to create furniture that maximizes comfort and relaxation in small spaces, similar to the Kulle Daybed. - **Office-lounge Hybrid:** The Kulle Daybed's visual appeal and blend of office chair and lounge chair functionality present an opportunity for companies to create unique workspace furniture that maximizes comfort and productivity. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Furniture Manufacturing:** Furniture manufacturers can capitalize on the trend of cloud-inspired, compressed space, and multipurpose furniture to create visually appealing and practical pieces for urban living and workspaces. - **Office Furniture:** The Kulle Daybed's potential for office and workspace use presents an opportunity for office furniture companies to create comfortable, visually appealing, and multi-functional pieces that promote productivity and relaxation. - **Interior Design:** Interior design firms can incorporate cloud-inspired and compressed space furniture trends into their designs, creating visually appealing and practical spaces that promote comfort and relaxation. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Precariously Suspended Sofas](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/suspended-sofa.md) - [Plush Sculptural Lounge Sofas](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rokko.md) - [Ultra-Comfy Seating Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cushy-lounge-chair.md) - [Squishy Clay-Made Daybeds](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/soft-soil-daybed.md) - [Family-Friendly Modular Couches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rubik-v-cloud-modular-couch.md) - [Stylishly Comfortable Recliners](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/king-living-king-cloud-recliner.md) - [Ultra-Relaxed Sofa Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/knoll-perron-pillo.md) - [Childhood-Informed Dome Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-clodette-chair.md) - [Compact Pillowy Furniture Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sander-series.md)
