# Seasonal Coat Racks The David Scott 'Symbol' Hooks are Useful Any Time of Year By Shelby Lee Walsh | Published 2009-10-09 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/david-scott References: [yankodesign](http://www.yankodesign.com/2009/10/09/coat-rack-of-many-colors/) & [desudesign](http://desudesign.com/catalog/vmchk/) The “Symbol” is an awesome coat rack that is designed by David Scott. He designed this coat rack with seasonal weather in mind because during the warmer months, there is less need for a jacket and therefore less need for a coat rack. Because of this fact, his handy colored coat hooks fold inwards to create an eye-pleasing look that is also out of the way. When it does get cold though, David Scott’s “Symbol” is prepared to hold up to 75 pounds on its sturdy hooks. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.3/10 - Popularity: 21% | Activity: 69% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Foldable Coat Racks:** Opportunity for designers to create coat racks that can fold and save space when not in use. - **Seasonal Storage Solutions:** Creating storage solutions that can be used seasonally or during different weather conditions can be a game-changer for small living spaces. - **Multi-functional Hooks:** Designers can create hooks that serve multiple purposes, such as holding coats in the winter and folding in the summer, saving space. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Home Design and Furnishings:** Seasonal coat racks and multi-functional hooks can appeal to homeowners looking to maximize space and add unique design elements. - **Small Space Living:** Seasonal storage solutions and foldable coat racks can be of great interest to people living in urban areas with limited space. - **Office Space Design:** Multi-functional hooks in office spaces can be a great way to maximize organization and space, especially in shared workspaces. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Tripod-Like Garment Racks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/multifunctional-coat-rack.md) - [Wall-Mounted Wall Rack](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/velto.md) - [Smiley Clothing Wall Hooks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/itsahook.md) - [Geometrically Shaped Hanger Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/triangle-hanger.md) - [Sporty Climbing-Inspired Hangers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/grip-hanger.md) - [Quirky Structural Clothes Hangers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hang-we.md) - [Rotating Punctuation Mark Hangers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/emotion-hanger.md) - [Modular Minimal Wardrobe Hangers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/koi-cloths.md) - [Storage-Conscious Clothing Hangers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/coat-hingers.md)
