Taking the work of [Gabriel Dawe](http://www.trendhunter.com/trends/plexus-series-by-gabriel-dawe) and [Faig Ahmed](http://www.trendhunter.com/trends/thread-installation-by-faig-ahmed) to the next level, he illuminates his material of choice to create scenes that appear to test the theories of space and time. David Ogle writes, "Much of my work to date has dealt with exploring notions of materiality, of permanence and of the perception of objects in space." Strikingly ephemeral, David Ogle accompanies his [threaded art works with light](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/duo-1), which transforms them into a futuristic sight worthy of scientists' attentions. David Ogle also contains his work within certain familiar parameters such as a box or a fan to evoke people's imagination about their origin and purpose. Nevertheless, they are still "sculptures without mass and forms without structures." ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.6/10 - Popularity: 38% | Activity: 3% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Illuminated Art:** Opportunity to fuse light and traditional art to create mesmerizing installations. - **Thread Art:** Opportunity to push the boundaries of thread art with innovative techniques and materials. - **Perception-based Installations:** Opportunity to create art installations that challenge viewers' perceptions and portray different interpretations. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Art and Design:** Opportunity to create innovative and avant-garde art installations to attract art enthusiasts and drive the creative industry forward. - **Lighting and Technology:** Opportunity to develop advanced lighting technology that can enhance and transform traditional art installations. - **Architecture and Interior Design:** Opportunity to incorporate perception-based installations into building and interior design to create unique and immersive experiences. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Textile Art Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/olga-de-amaral.md) - [Wonderous Art Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/your-psychoacoustic-light-ensemble.md) - [Lightning-Inspired Artful Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bright-light-shining.md) - [Immersive Light Art Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/psychoacoustic-light-ensemble.md) - [Stunningly Intricate Light Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shapes-of-light.md) - [Intricate Fiber Art Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/threadwork-women-redefining-fiber-arts.md) - [Intricate Lighting Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/objects-of-common-interest1.md) - [Glowing Tubular Light Fixtures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/array-lighting.md) - [Statement Street Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/surreal-street-art-1.md)
