In fact, no one ever saw these sculptures coming. Mesguich's sculptures are meant for [public space](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/paul-anthony-smith), meaning he places his work around shared spaces. Each of his sculptures occupies a spot around the city, surprising and shocking viewers when they stumble upon his unique work. Mesguich's sculptures are also shocking in their composition. With a basic [white-grey color palette](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ralph-pucci-pure-exhibition) and a highly texturized, warped material, Mesguich's creations are uncannily realistic in form. However, their blank gazes, looming height and [warped surfaces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/a-week-at-the-knees), can easily spook the unwary city dweller. While Mesguich's sculptures are shocking, they completely engross the viewer and are impossible not to think about -- a mark of true innovation. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.4/10 - Popularity: 68% | Activity: 56% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Modern](https://www.trendhunter.com/modern) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Public Art Trend:** Creating unexpected and shocking sculptures for public spaces that engage and surprise viewers. - **Uncanny Realism Trend:** Using texturized and highly realistic materials to create sculptures with a haunting and unsettling effect. - **Engaging Viewer Experience Trend:** Designing sculptures that completely engross viewers and leave a lasting impact. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Art and Design Industry:** Opportunity for artists and designers to create innovative public art installations that challenge and provoke viewers. - **Sculpture Industry:** Potential for sculptors to explore new materials and techniques to achieve uncanny realism and evoke emotions. - **Tourism and Events Industry:** Possibility to incorporate haunting sculptures in public spaces to enhance the visitor experience and attract attention. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Broken-Aesthetic Sculpture Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/brokenaesthetic-sculpture-collection.md) - [Digital Archetype Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/christian-rex-van-minnen-1.md) - [Artful Anime-Blending Split Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/split-bust.md) - [Statement Street Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/surreal-street-art-1.md) - [Otherworldly Wooden Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wooden-sculptures-1.md) - [Mesmerizing Sculpture Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mesmerizing-sculpture.md) - [Surreal Love-Themed Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/joakim-ojanen.md) - [Sculptural Public Seating](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sculptural-public-seating.md) - [Collaborative Sculptural Art Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/neojomon-biomorphic-fantme.md)
