# Transformed Firework Photography The David Johnson Collection of Firecracker Images Are Remodeled By Jordy E | Published 2015-06-08 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/david-johnson References: [mymodernmet](http://www.mymodernmet.com/profiles/blogs/david-johnson-abstract-fireworks?context=tag-fireworks) & [daveyjphoto](http://www.daveyjphoto.com) The David Johnson collection of fireworks imagery updates standard snapshots of bursts of light. The Canadian-based artist has done so through captures of abstract beams that have been transformed into a series of unusual, striking shapes. To produce these images, Johnson applied a 1-2 second-long exposure. This proved to be the right amount of time necessary for the firecrackers as they burst into the air, revealing colorful explosions at every turn. By shifting the focus of his camera, Johnson also delivered both hazy and evidently detailed pictures. Whether obscured or not, the formations present in his portfolio are mesmerizing through punches of red, pink and purple. Several of the pieces are also hyper real, making them appear as if live. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.8/10 - Popularity: 29% | Activity: 17% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Modern](https://www.trendhunter.com/modern) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Abstract Firework Photography:** Opportunity for photographers to experiment and push the boundaries of traditional firework photography through the use of long exposure and unique camera angles. - **Hyper-realistic Firework Imagery:** Opportunity for artists to create firework art that appears to be alive and in motion. - **Firework Art as Abstract Shapes:** Opportunity for artists to transform firework explosions into unusual and striking shapes. ### Who This Affects Most - **Photography:** Photographers can explore and offer new and innovative takes on traditional event photography, particularly in the realm of firework photography. - **Art:** Artists can use firework photography as inspiration to create unique and captivating pieces. - **Event Planning:** Event planners can utilize abstract firework photography and hyper-realistic firework imagery to enhance the visual experience of events such as weddings, concerts, and festivals. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Paper Curvature Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/paper-curves.md) - [Blurry Abstract Photography Exhibits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/optical-allusion.md) - [AI-Generated Real-World Transformations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ai-generated-world.md) - [Interactive Colorful Art Exhibits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/david-hockney-bigger-closer.md) - [Playful Balloon Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/keff-joons.md) - [AI-Generated Poetic Photo Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/emilio-alarcn.md) - [Painting-Immersive Photo Exhibits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/new-ground-exhibition.md) - [Physics-Informed Digital Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/motion-sculpture.md) - [Lightning-Inspired Artful Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bright-light-shining.md)
