# Disturbing Liplock Depictions David Ho Paints Bizarre Creatures Kissing One Another By Jason Soy | Published 2012-03-18 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/david-ho References: [davidho](http://www.davidho.com/index.html) & [artforadults.tumblr](http://artforadults.tumblr.com/post/19246657646/neverstopdrawing-david-ho) David Ho is an undisputed master of rendering bizarre concepts. His personal website describes it best when it says he’s a, “uniquely effective communicator of the [grotesque](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/junji-ito-artwork).” Whether he’s painting female apparitions making out with creatures with fish heads or humanoid cat monks meditating underneath a set of udders, viewers can expect to see outlandish and visually stunning creations whenever Ho is concerned. David Ho [paints his images digitally](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/painting-exhibition), and he makes a conscious choice to use cold, metallic color schemes in order to further unnerve audiences. Several of his paintings feature [human/animal and human/insect hybrids](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/split-bust), but that’s tamed in comparison to Ho’s other depictions. If you don’t think you can handle images of strange creatures assembling females together like toys or a young girl holding a bloody human heart on a platter, you may want to avoid browsing this amazing artist’s portfolio. You should know though, you'd totally be missing out. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.9/10 - Popularity: 100% | Activity: 99% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Bizarre Creature Art:** David Ho creates visually stunning and grotesque paintings of unconventional creatures. - **Unsettling Hybrid Depictions:** David Ho's art showcases the merging of human and other creatures in a surreal, uncanny way. - **Cold Metallic Color Schemes:** David Ho's choice of cold metallic colors adds to the surreal and jarring quality of his artwork. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Contemporary Art:** David Ho's unconventional style and use of technology makes him a leader in contemporary art. - **Fantasy/horror Entertainment:** David Ho's unique and disturbing artwork could inspire new directions in horror and fantasy entertainment. - **Digital Art:** David Ho's use of digital painting techniques could revolutionize the world of digital art and graphic design. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Apocalypse Post Pandemic Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/contemporary-urban-art.md) - [Distorted Furniture Street Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/first-kiss-at-last-light.md) - [Surreal Love-Themed Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/joakim-ojanen.md) - [Digital Archetype Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/christian-rex-van-minnen-1.md) - [Hyper-Realistic Flesh Objects](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/junji-ito.md) - [Human Duality-Themed Abstract Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/passive-aggression.md) - [Statement Street Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/surreal-street-art-1.md) - [Coagulating Lip Oils](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kiss-of-death-lip-oils.md) - [Otherworldly Wooden Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wooden-sculptures-1.md)
