The resulting chair was dubbed 'Hedwig' -- a humorous title that pays tribute the name his wife desired to be referred to when she was a child. The piece features a simplistic [exposed beach wood design](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vipassa) that includes two cup holders on its armrests, allowing her to comfortably set her tea down as she cozies up to read a book. David Ericsson offers two different variations of the chairs, one that utilizes a [tanned vegetable leather](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/woven-chair-designs) and another that sports a natural canvas. The leather version is offered in a number of different colors, with brown, natural and black all available. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.0/10 - Popularity: 16% | Activity: 6% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/furniture) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Tea-holder Furniture:** Opportunities exist for designers to create furniture that incorporates functional features to provide an enhanced experience for users. - **Personalized Design:** There is demand for customized products that cater to individual preferences, offering opportunities for designers to create personalized pieces. - **Simple & Functional Design:** There is a growing trend for furniture that combines simplicity and functionality to create efficient and practical pieces. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Furniture Design:** Designers can incorporate functional features into furniture, creating a new niche in the furniture industry. - **Customized Products:** There is demand for personalized products, creating opportunities for designers to create customized pieces that cater to individual preferences. - **Home Decor:** Incorporating simple and functional pieces into home decor is desirable, leading to opportunities for designers to create practical, yet stylish, furniture. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Draped Fabric-Clad Lounge Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hidahida.md) - [Drink-Holding Outdoor Lounge Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lago-lounge-chair.md) - [Childhood-Inspired Outdoor Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/peace-outdoor-lounge.md) - [Mindful Wooden Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tanuvi-hegde.md) - [Chic Single-Piece Plywood Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/void-lounge-chair.md) - [Industrial Light-Equipped Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hidden-light-chair.md) - [Posh Pet-Friendly Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arch-chair-design.md) - [Wooden Twin Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/same-same.md) - [Intertwined Wooden Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hug-chair-1.md)
