The whole thing seems far fetched, but basically the idea behind the stunt is that David Blaine has been balancing on a tiny, elevated platform that has been hooked up to a device that can shoot a million volts of electricity onto David. The power for this stunt is actually being generated by the public on a device called the Ultrabook. People can control the intensity of the lightning and the direction of the light and sound. Andrew W.K. hooked up a keyboard to the device and proceeded to play a long keyboard solo that simultaneously shocked David Blaine while up on stage. The video showcases the interview that fuse conducted with the musician. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 0.4/10 - Popularity: 1% | Activity: 2% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Pop Culture](https://www.trendhunter.com/popculture) > [Celebs](https://www.trendhunter.com/celebs) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Interactive Stunts:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Creating immersive and interactive experiences by combining technology and live performances. - **Crowd-powered Energy:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Harnessing the power of the public to generate electricity for unique and attention-grabbing events. - **Collaborative Performance:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Encouraging collaboration between musicians, performers, and technologists to push the boundaries of live entertainment. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Entertainment:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Incorporating technology and audience participation to enhance live performances and attract new audiences. - **Energy:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Exploring novel ways of generating electricity through public engagement and participation. - **Technology:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Developing innovative devices and platforms that enable interactive experiences and power unique events. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Interactive Music Fitness Tools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/music-boxing-machine.md) - [Contactless Electromagnetic Guitar Picks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kinetic-remote-control-guitar-pick.md) - [Hand-Sensing Musical Instruments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/roli-airwave.md) - [Endurance Tap Dance Performances](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/endurance-tap-dance.md) - [Connected Musical Chord Keyboards](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chord-machine-akt01.md) - [Album-Centric Pop-Ups](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bandlab-x-d4vd.md) - [Musician-Themed Online Games](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fortnite-festival.md) - [Musician-Friendly Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/throne-x.md) - [Shreddable Steampunk Guitars](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/steampunk-guitar.md)
