For his most recent project, Bernstein decided to take a walk while unrolling toilet paper onto a field in NYC Governor's Island. After taking the walk, he cleaned up and repeated the process 5 times hourly. This added even more curiosity to the David Bernstein 'Sh-t Job' installation, creating buzz amongst spectators. Speculation has risen as to what the focus of this installation was. Is it littering? A social commentary? Regardless, the piece is definitely a sight to see. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.9/10 - Popularity: 63% | Activity: 46% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Live Arts](https://www.trendhunter.com/livearts) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Toilet Paper Art:** Explore new art forms beyond traditional mediums and techniques using toilet paper as a primary material. - **Performance Art Installations:** Create interactive installations that engage people and encourage them to speculate and interpret their meaning. - **Controversial Art:** Push the boundaries of art and provoke discourse on taboo subjects, which challenge societal norms and expectations. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Art and Sculpture:** Create experiential installations that explore unconventional materials and innovative techniques to create thought-provoking conversations around art. - **Events and Festivals:** Include provocative art installations as part of event activations to attract audiences and create unique experiences that can be shared on social media. - **Sustainable Tourism:** Incorporate sustainable and eco-friendly art installations that raise awareness of environmental issues and promote sustainable tourism practices. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Artfully Sculptured Textured Toilets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-formation-02.md) - [Monochromatic Sculptural Gateways](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sculptural-gateway.md) - [Sizable Chair Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chair-installation.md) - [Mask-Made Art Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tidal-stories.md) - [Public Art Displays](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/paul-anthony-smith.md) - [Statement Street Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/surreal-street-art-1.md) - [Reflective Urban Art Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/minibean.md) - [Thought-Provoking Interactive Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/antibodies-installation.md) - [Paper-Made Mosaic Artwork](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/real-life-architecture-exhibition.md)
