# Eerie Kaleidoscopic Art Videos Dave Razor has Created an Incredible Video of Moving Fingers By Sarah St.Jules | Published 2013-08-30 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dave-razor References: [thisiscolossal](http://www.thisiscolossal.com/2013/08/mesmerizingly-creepy-kaleidoscopic-fingers-filmed-by-dave-razor/) & [daverazordesign](http://www.daverazordesign.com/) There is something inherently horrifying and mesmerizing about the work that Dave Razor has produced. In his video entitled 'Fingered,' Razor has used a series of hands and put them against a black backdrop. These fingers then move in many different ways, and ultimately it creates a [kaleidoscope effect](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/illusion-box). What adds to the [eerie factor](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/optical-flow) in this set is the music that is played in the background. There are ominous sounds, and every time the fingers move, there is a distinct creaking sound. It is also odd to see fingers moving in unnatural ways. Even though there are strange facets of this collection, it is also quite beautiful, and the [coordination is impeccably done](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arrakis-30). Dave Razor has been able to create a set that is aesthetically stunning, but also makes you feel weird after watching it. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 0.4/10 - Popularity: 2% | Activity: 1% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Eerie Art Videos:** The trend of creating unsettling art videos with coordinating imagery is growing, offering opportunities for disruptive innovation in tech and film industries. - **Kaleidoscopic Visuals:** The trend of using kaleidoscope effects in videos and photography is becoming more popular, offering opportunities for disruptive innovation in digital media and advertising industries. - **Unnatural Imagery:** The trend of featuring unsettling and unnatural imagery in art and media is on the rise, offering opportunities for disruptive innovation in the entertainment and gaming industries. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Art Industry:** The art industry can utilize the trend of unsettling and coordinated imagery in their works, potentially leading to new and unique art forms. - **Film Industry:** The film industry can experiment with unsettling visual effects like kaleidoscope imagery, potentially leading to new and innovative cinematography techniques. - **Advertising Industry:** The advertising industry can use the trend of kaleidoscopic visuals in marketing campaigns for products or brands, potentially leading to more engaging and memorable ads. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [AI-Generated Art Challenges](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kfc-x-fiiiiiingers.md) - [Mesmerizing Sand Pattern Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/crystal-sandsara.md) - [Digital Archetype Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/christian-rex-van-minnen-1.md) - [Movement-Evoking Audio Visualizers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/favle22.md) - [Digital Audio-Visual Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/audiovisual-exhibition.md) - [Distorted Burger Campaigns](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ailloween.md) - [Wonderous Art Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/your-psychoacoustic-light-ensemble.md) - [Illusion-Inspired Design Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ripples-collection.md) - [Mesmerizing Sculpture Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mesmerizing-sculpture.md)
