# Star Wars Gaming Gear Darth Vader Nintendo Wii Sensor Bar Holder Establishes Who is King Nerd By Brian G Randles | Published 2009-10-01 | Tech Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/darth-vader-nintendo-wii-sensor References: [gizmodo](http://gizmodo.com/5370042/vader-wii-sensor-bar-impedes-our-quest-for-social-normalcy) & [shop.starwars](http://shop.starwars.com/catalog/product.xml?topcatID=1300264product_id=1316946) The Darth Vader [Nintendo](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nyxi) Wii Sensor bar holder takes nerding (yes, nerd is a verb now) to epic levels. Not only can you show off your sweet [lightsaber moves](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lightsaber-lego) in front of your cat, Mittens Solo, but now you can do it with Darth Vader holding the sensor which receives every awkwardly nonathletic virtual saber swipe. The Darth Vader Nintendo Wii Sensor bar holder goes for around $50, but I think the asking price is too low. Geeks normally stop at nothing to one-up each other and this Star Wars gem is a definite ace in the [uber](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/callback-8020) hole. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.8/10 - Popularity: 20% | Activity: 85% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 90% men, 10% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Games](https://www.trendhunter.com/games) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Star Wars Gaming Gear:** An increasing demand for gaming gear inspired by the Star Wars franchise presents opportunities for companies to create innovative products and accessories that cater to fans' preferences and enhance their gaming experience. - **Nerd Culture:** The popularity of nerd culture has opened up opportunities for businesses to create niche products, such as the Darth Vader Nintendo Wii Sensor bar holder, that appeal to die-hard fans and capitalize on their willingness to invest in unique and collectible items. - **Virtual Reality Gaming:** The integration of virtual reality technology into gaming experiences has the potential to revolutionize the industry, offering opportunities for companies to create immersive Star Wars-themed gaming accessories and gadgets that enhance the overall gameplay. ### Where This Applies - **Gaming Accessories:** The market for gaming accessories, particularly those inspired by popular franchises like Star Wars, presents a ripe space for companies to disrupt and innovate by offering unique and specialized products. - **Collectibles:** The collectibles industry can leverage the popularity of iconic characters and franchises like Star Wars to create limited edition items, like the Darth Vader Nintendo Wii Sensor bar holder, that cater to the passionate fanbase and generate buzz and sales. - **Virtual Reality Technology:** The virtual reality industry can explore opportunities to partner with gaming companies and develop Star Wars-themed virtual reality gaming experiences and hardware, tapping into the immense popularity and fan following of the franchise. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Hand-Knit Sci-Fi Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/handknit-scifi-sculpture.md) - [LED-Powered Laser Swords](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/black-series-obiwan-kenobi-force-fx-elite-lightsaber.md) - [Sci-Fi Smart Speaker Stands](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/echo-dot-stand.md) - [Movie-Inspired Digi-Pets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/star-wars-tamagotchi.md) - [Celebratory Sci-Fi Tech Products](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/logitech-g-return-of-the-jediinspired-collection.md) - [Sci-Fi Smartphone Grips](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/popsockets-dimensionals-star-wars.md) - [Sci-Fi Gaming Mice](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/millennium-falcon-edition.md) - [Gaming Star Toppers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/invincibility-star.md) - [Sci-Fi-Branded Gamer Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/secretlab-x-star-wars.md)
