# Angled Architectural Monuments Daniel Libeskind Will Make Canada's National Holocaust Monument By Jamie Danielle Munro | Published 2014-05-13 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/daniel-libeskind References: [designboom](http://www.designboom.com/architecture/daniel-libeskind-national-holocaust-monument-ottawa-canada-05-12-2014/) & [daniel-libeskind](http://daniel-libeskind.com/) Daniel Libeskind has been selected to build a [national monument](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/et302-memorial) in commemoration of the holocaust victims for Canada. The building will be set in Ottawa, the capital of the country, with the hopes of finishing the structure in 2015. The design looks very angled and modernist. From above, it almost looks like a star design, with various points coming out on all sides of the building. The natural surroundings will also be complemented with this piece of architecture, as a log of [green space remains](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sanctum-of-trees) instead of being completely run over. This is an excellent way to commemorate those who lost their lives during the holocaust, especially since Canada does not have something like this already. It could also bring more people to the Canadian capital.
