# Flowery Realist Paintings Dane Lovett Uses Wildlife for This Lifelike Artwork By Deborah Kim | Published 2011-07-17 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dane-lovett References: [oktooca.wordpress](http://oktooca.wordpress.com/2011/07/14/danelovett/) & [danelovett](http://danelovett.com/) Australian artist Dane Lovett creates these beautiful realistic [still-life paintings](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/still-life-1) using found objects, plants and flowers. He uses popular items from popular modern culture, fusing them with the nature around us. To create his art, Lovett attaches a vine of flowers to a keyboard, places a [vase of flowers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flower-preservation) in a notebook, sets potted [plants on top of a speaker](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/multimedia-art-installation) and synthesizer, and infuses various other musical objects like old LPs and cassette tapes. This contrast between technology and nature is something that most people deal with every day. The future has better, more efficient ways to deal with things, but is it really better? Is there a way that we can fuse the old naturalist way of things with the current future-based way of thinking? Dane Lovett's creative flower creations are certainly thought-provoking as well as aesthetically pleasing to the eyes. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.3/10 - Popularity: 30% | Activity: 2% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Modern](https://www.trendhunter.com/modern) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Nature-tech Fusion:** Exploring the integration of natural elements with modern technology to create innovative and thought-provoking artwork. - **Found Object Art:** Utilizing discarded or everyday objects to create visually stunning and conceptually rich artworks. - **Realism in Contemporary Art:** Reviving the traditional art form of realism in a contemporary context, creating a captivating juxtaposition of the familiar and the extraordinary. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Art and Design:** Opportunities for artists to push the boundaries of traditional art forms by incorporating unconventional materials and concepts into their work. - **Technology and Creativity:** Exploring how advancements in technology can be harnessed to innovate and enhance artistic expression. - **Sustainability and Recycling:** Creating awareness of the potential beauty in discarded objects and promoting sustainable practices through art. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Floral-Inspired Sculptural Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flower-power.md) - [Blooming Clustered Art Forms](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/structural-botany.md) - [Stunning Dried Flower Arrangements](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/east-olivia.md) - [Outdoor Floral Sculpture Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sculptures-at-kew-gardens.md) - [Hand-Painted Watercolor Prints](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/emma-webster.md) - [Otherworldly Wooden Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wooden-sculptures-1.md) - [Nature-Inspired Home Decor](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flower-power-moss-wall-art.md) - [Artist-Inspired Flower Puzzle Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/belgiandesigner.md) - [3D-Printed Colorful Vessels](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/olivier-van-herpt-1.md)
