Located in Dunsborough, Australia, this space was designed with the family in mind. Beyond the family-friendly design, the home's crowning glory has to be the [cantilevered, beach-view balcony](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/westview-residence). Standing upon it, one would swear they could feel the sand beneath their toes, or touch the salty waves with their fingertips. The rest of the exterior is balanced out with a mixture of glass facades and [sawn timber battens](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/casa-guaec-project). As for the interior, it is comprised of black stone and carbonized oak flooring and timber detailing. For the sake of contrast, there is matte white detailing throughout the bathrooms. Overall, your hectic family life will be transformed by the simple, elegant and downright peaceful aesthetic of the P048 Home. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.8/10 - Popularity: 72% | Activity: 33% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Cantilevered Balconies:** Innovative designs incorporating cantilevered balconies in homes and apartments offer space-saving while providing an outdoor experience. - **Family-friendly Home Design:** Emerging trend in family-friendly home design seeks to create functional living spaces that cater to the needs of families and promote well-being. - **Mixed Use of Materials in Home Design:** Innovative use of materials in home design blurs the line between indoors and outdoors, while creating unique design features that add value to properties. ### Who This Affects Most - **Real Estate:** Real estate professionals can explore opportunities in creating innovative and functional living spaces for families. - **Architecture:** Architects can incorporate mixed use of materials and outdoor features in home designs to create unique and family-friendly living spaces. - **Home Building and Construction:** The use of new and innovative materials, and designs incorporating mixed use of spaces, offer disruptive innovation opportunities for the home building and construction industry. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Angular Black Cantilevered Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tallowwood-cabin.md) - [Spacially Contrasting Home Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/barwon-heads-house.md) - [Light-Filled Open Beach Houses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/big-sky-beach-house.md) - [Anticipatory Architectural Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vulcan-house.md) - [Off-Grid Oceanside Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/campos-studio.md) - [Family Life-Focused Modern Houses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pacific-house.md) - [Stone-Finished Coastal Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/matopos.md) - [Shore-Perched Modern Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tongass-ledge.md) - [Brutalist Suburban Family Houses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/south-yarra-house.md)
