Rubin creatively turns strangers on the street into Kim Kardashian, James Franco and many more using the traditional arm stretch [selfie pose](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/selfie-ai). On his Tumblr blog, Rubin cleverly uploads photographs of strangers posing with a smartphone covering their face. Displayed on the smartphone screen is an image of a famous pop culture celebrity. As the strangers hold the smartphone in front of their face like they're about to take a selfie, a picture of a celebrity's face cleverly replaces the stranger's own visage. The result is a series of striking images that turns anonymous strangers into seemingly well-known faces. Rubin's images are a fun mix of playful photography with [celebrity narcissism](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/celebrity-twin). ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.8/10 - Popularity: 26% | Activity: 49% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Fashion](https://www.trendhunter.com/fashion) > [Photography](https://www.trendhunter.com/stylephotography) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Satirical Celebrity Selfies:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Explore new ways of satirizing celebrity culture and the obsession with selfies through creative photography. - **Celebrity Impersonation:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop technology or techniques to transform people into celebrities digitally, allowing for fun and creative impersonation in photos and videos. - **Playful Photography:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Create innovative photography concepts that combine humor, imagination, and pop culture to engage and entertain audiences. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Photography:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop new tools or techniques to enhance the creativity and humor in digital photography, catering to the growing demand for unique and engaging visual content. - **Digital Entertainment:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Explore the integration of celebrity impersonation and playful photography into digital entertainment platforms, offering users entertaining and interactive experiences. - **Social Media:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Create features or apps that allow users to participate in or share satirical celebrity selfies, tapping into the viral nature of social media trends. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Celebrity Social Feeds](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bereal-1.md) - [Generative AI Historical Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/art-selfie-2.md) - [Selfie-Centric Action Figures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/selfie-series.md) - [AI Selfie Apps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/roast-my-selfie.md) - [Artfully Functional Home Accessories](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ilan.md) - [Instant Photo Roast Generators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/zinger.md) - [Celebrity Face Matchers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/celebrity-twin.md) - [Viral Face Generators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/crazyface.md) - [Personalized AI Emojis](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/emojifyer-ai.md)
