# Moving Solar Flowers Dan Roe's Solar Flowers Eerily Spin in the Sun By Summer Luu | Published 2010-09-22 | Eco Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dan-roes-solar-flowers References: [neatorama](http://www.neatorama.com/2010/09/20/solar-flowers/) & [danroe.net](http://www.danroe.net/portfolio.html) Dan Roe's Solar Flowers are essentially [solar-powered kinetic sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/totem-de-luz) that eerily move in the sun. They give off a creepy feeling as these [mechanical flowers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/blooming-furniture) spin around by the window sill, reminding me of what people's heads look like rolling around in a scary movie. Dan Roe's Solar Flowers could have at least lightened up the mood by incorporating some [sunshiny colors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bloome) to the petals and stem. Check out the video to see what I'm talking about. You will find the spooky music doesn't help either. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.8/10 - Popularity: 24% | Activity: 81% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Eco](https://www.trendhunter.com/eco) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Solar-powered Kinetic Sculptures:** There is an opportunity for innovative artists and designers to create solar-powered sculptures that move in unique and captivating ways. - **Incorporating Sunshiny Colors:** Companies in the art and design industry can explore using vibrant colors in solar-powered sculptures to create a more visually appealing and cheerful experience for viewers. - **Creepy-yet-engaging Aesthetics:** Entrepreneurs can tap into the trend of creating eerie and captivating aesthetic experiences by integrating elements of fear and surprise in their designs. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Art and Design:** The art and design industry can explore the potential of solar-powered kinetic sculptures as unique and engaging art installations. - **Renewable Energy:** The renewable energy industry can incorporate solar-powered kinetic sculptures to demonstrate the aesthetic and functional integration of solar power. - **Entertainment:** Entertainment companies can leverage the creepy-yet-engaging aesthetics of solar-powered kinetic sculptures to create immersive and interactive experiences for audiences. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Rotating Solar Powered Benches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/eness-1.md) - [Solar-Powered Floral Garden Accessories](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/solar-tree-house.md) - [Solar Energy Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/michael-jantzen-2.md) - [Halloween-Themed Flower Bouquets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bouqs-spooky-collection.md) - [Reflective Public Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flowers-and-butterflies-are-dancing.md) - [Solar Panel Artworks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/solar-tapestry.md) - [DIY LED Flower Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/floled.md) - [Stylish Mechanical Weather Stations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/skymill.md) - [Emotional Light Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/miror-collection.md)
