Inspired by [basket-like forms](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/woven-structures-collection), the word 'dami' means 'put in' in Korean, which is quite appropriate. Each piece in the series is completely hollow, inviting people to put things inside of it. Created by South Korean designer Seung Yong Song, the Dami series is comprised of a stool or side table, bench or buffet, table lamp and floor lamp. Intriguingly versatile, the Dami Series embraces the visual beauty and structure of Korean traditional grille designs. This aesthetic is not only lightweight, it is also sturdy and durable. The Dami series is made out of a mix of eco-friendly materials called [Valchromat](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/salt-hq) and [CNC](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/soundlink-plus), which helps meld modernity with traditional beauty. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.0/10 - Popularity: 82% | Activity: 61% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Hollow Furniture:** Opportunity for eco-friendly furniture designs that combine traditional aesthetics with modern materials - **Grill-like Structures:** Innovative approach to creating environmentally conscious and visually appealing furniture - **Versatile Furniture:** Opportunity for multi-functional furniture designs that utilize unique grid exterior ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Furniture Manufacturing:** Potential for incorporating eco-friendly materials and traditional aesthetics into modern furniture design - **Interior Design:** Incorporating visually striking and eco-friendly pieces into home and office spaces - **Architecture:** Innovative approach to creating sustainable and visually engaging structures within interior design and architecture ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Dolmen-Inspired Furniture Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/primitive-structures.md) - [Reimagined Curiously Functional Products](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/didim.md) - [Wooden Textural Furniture Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/corrugated-furniture.md) - [Distinctive Wooden Furniture Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/seyun.md) - [Reworked Steel Forms](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/barred-collection.md) - [Hand Carved Cork Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dol-furniture.md) - [Functional Household Product Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/soom.md) - [Sleek Dynamic Steel Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/foln.md) - [Geometric Cutout Side Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/designated-table.md)
