The Washginton-born visionary is known for his detailed work with [glass blown mediums](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/johnnie-walker-blue-ultra), the bulk of which have been displayed at museums and specialty events throughout the world. Chihuly's last NYC-based display was launched in 2006. His return to the region is a highly anticipated one, and his Chelsea Persians delivers just the right amount of glamor and intellect to his adoring fans. Chihuly posits his installation as both artificial and natural as different streams of light pass through the structure, reflecting rainbow-hued beams onto the walls, floors and ceilings of the renowned Marlborough Chelsea Gallery. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.0/10 - Popularity: 55% | Activity: 58% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Customization](https://www.trendhunter.com/customization) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Illuminated Glass Sculptures:** Opportunity for artists and designers to create innovative and captivating light installations using glass sculptures. ### Who This Affects Most - **Art and Design:** Potential for artists, galleries, and designers to create unique and immersive experiences using illuminated glass sculptures. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Contemporary Glass Art Experiences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/star-hill-farm.md) - [Gem-Like Sculptural Art Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cylindrical-lenses.md) - [Retro Glass Sculpture Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/larry-bell.md) - [Psychedelic Sculptural Art Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/frank-stella-recent-sculpture.md) - [Illuminated Curtained Light Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/making-the-invisible-visible.md) - [Sculptural Design Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pure-exhibition.md) - [Lightning-Inspired Artful Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bright-light-shining.md) - [Wonderous Art Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/your-psychoacoustic-light-ensemble.md) - [Dynamic Hand-Blown Glass Chandeliers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/polaris.md)
