For its Spring/Summer 2020 collection, [Daily Paper](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rise-through-the-ropes) teamed up with the Ghanaian visual artist David Alabo to create the Daily Paper x David Alabo [capsule collection](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wasted-youth-x-tappei).

The Daily Paper x David Alabo collection takes Alabo's use of three-dimensional abstract works, photography, and mixed media pieces, and uses them as the artwork for five shirts. Each shirt features an Afro-Surrealist [tarot card design](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tarot-card-art) that is meant to both showcase and critique African society through a fantastic and otherwordly lense. As Alabo explains, "The chance to fabricate a new universe with its own rules, characters, and motifs whilst still paying respect to the original source of inspiration is incredibly exciting. It is in the nature of a surrealist to subvert the familiar and shift perspective to discover new insights.”

The limited-edition Daily Paper x David Alabo collection is currently available from Daily Paper's online shop.
