Paris-based artist Dai Dai Tran recreated a series of iconic logos using banknotes from China and the United States. The intricate artworks are a unique way to use monetary materials for something other than currency exchanges.

Dai Dai Tran cuts banknotes to form popular and globally recognized brand logos such as Apple, Supreme, and Nike Air Jordan. The idea for this project is to educate consumers on where their products are coming from. The artist creates logos of companies that are based in the United States but have products being produced in China.

By combining and contrasting two varieties of currency, this art project helps consumers gain a visual understanding of how their favorite brands produce their products. While there is a heavy emphasis of localization, there are many global brands that do not adhere to this production system.
