The special edition car was created to commemorate Donkervoort's successes in the year 2014, including breaking the Bilster Berg circuit lap record for street-legal production cars. Accordingly, only 14 units of the special edition car will be manufactured. The D8 GTO Bilster Berg Edition is powered by an [Audi](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/audi-rs-etron-gt) 2.5L R5 TFSI engine that pumps out 380 brake horse power which is well utilized thanks to the car's low weight of 685 kg. The vehicle can hit a top speed of 270 km/h, and can accelerate from zero to 100 km/h in only 2.8 seconds.
