One common problem is that as the dishes dry the holders tend to retain a lot of the water. To combat this issue Tel Aviv-based design firm [PELEG DESIGN](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-reflectrays) created the Jumbo Cutlery Drainer that drains water through and elephant nose-inspired design. The Jumbo Cutlery Drainer is a rectangular-shaped [cutlery holder](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cutlery-dispenser) that is ideal for [storing your utensils](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pocket-utensil-set) and cookware after hand washing. The container is shaped like a modular little gray elephant. To avoid housing excess water, the Jumbo Cutlery Drainer cleverly uses the elephant's nose to drain out the unused water. This way your clean dishes aren't left sitting in a pool of old water for days on end. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 0.6/10 - Popularity: 9% | Activity: 1% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Modular Cutlery Holders:** Designing cutlery holders with modular features can help address the issue of water retention and enhance functionality. - **Creative Drainage Designs:** Exploring unique and playful drainage designs, like the elephant nose-inspired concept, can bring innovation to everyday kitchen accessories. - **Functional Kitchen Accessories:** Creating kitchen accessories that are both practical and aesthetically pleasing can meet the demands of modern consumers. ### Where This Applies - **Kitchenware and Utensils:** The kitchenware industry can benefit from designing cutlery holders that offer improved drainage and innovative features. - **Home Decor and Design:** Incorporating unique and creative drainage designs into home decor products like cutlery holders can attract consumers seeking functional yet visually appealing items. - **Product Design and Innovation:** The field of product design and innovation can explore opportunities to disrupt the market by reimagining everyday kitchen accessories with practical and ingenious features. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Playful Sponge Holders](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sponge-holder1.md) - [Elephant Teething Gloves](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/moyuum.md) - [Animal-Themed Cleaning Items](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/koala-sponges.md) - [Interchangeable All-in-One Cutlery](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pinchy-cutlery.md) - [Creative Dipping Tableware](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dip-sea.md) - [Whimsically Bright Napkin Holders](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/balloonapkins.md) - [Flat-Packed Sleek Dish Racks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/aurea.md) - [Durable Sustainable Cutlery Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lollo.md) - [Compact Cutlery Dispensers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cutlery-station.md)
