# Book-Holding Lamps The 'Bookshade' Transforms Reading Material into a Cute Night Light By Michael Hemsworth | Published 2016-02-12 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cute-night-light References: [odditymall](http://odditymall.com/bookshade-lamp) & [dutchbydesign](http://www.dutchbydesign.com/leitmotiv-bookshade-wall-lamp) Although the 'Bookshade' might look like a cute night light that's literarily-inspired, the actuality is that it's a space-saving piece of furniture. Created with a skeletal frame that allows users to place an open book overtop, the 'Bookshade' utilizes the book as a makeshift lamp shade. Packed with an LED bulb, the 'Bookshade' ensures that safety is top priority; LEDs don't emit warmth, which means there's no risk of fire. The metal frame comes finished in either black or white styling to suit preferences. After being affixed to the wall, the cute night light simply requires a nearby outlet to plug into. From here, the 'Bookshade' only requires an opened text to be placed overtop (perhaps after you've finished a chapter) to operate and look great. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.4/10 - Popularity: 95% | Activity: 60% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Space-saving Furniture:** Creating innovative pieces of furniture that maximize space and functionality while providing a unique design aesthetic. - **Literary-inspired Decor:** Designing products that combine literature and home decor to create stylish and functional items for consumers. - **LED Lighting Solutions:** Developing energy-efficient lighting options that provide safety and versatility while minimizing the risk of fire hazards. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Furniture Manufacturing:** Opportunity to create space-saving furniture that caters to consumers' need for functional and compact living solutions. - **Home Decor Retail:** Capitalizing on the growing demand for literary-inspired decor items that add a unique and personalized touch to homes. - **Lighting Technology:** Building innovative LED lighting solutions that address energy efficiency concerns and enhance home lighting experiences. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Convenient Book Gadgets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/android-book-light.md) - [Light-Equipped Reading Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dasung.md) - [Pop-Up Reading Light Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/personal-task-lamp.md) - [Industrial Light-Equipped Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hidden-light-chair.md) - [Space-Saving Desk Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/spacesaving-desk-lamp.md) - [Tech-Charging Book Holders](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/haaase-liesma-bookshelf.md) - [Novel-Inspired Night Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/little-prince-night-lamp.md) - [Storage-Friendly Task Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/storage-lamp.md) - [Portable Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/grab-glow.md)
