Hølte is a London-based design company that recently opened the doors to its studio and showroom in Hackney, appealing to consumers who are looking to customize their IKEA kitchens with its elegant hand-finished cabinet fronts, handles, worktops and more. While many DIY-ers have been hacking IKEA furniture on their own for years, Hølte provides a helping hand in elevating the cost-effective, functional furniture pieces to create a bespoke kitchen design. The new store space from Hølte also doubles as a community-focused place to host events, client meetings, design workshops, pop-ups, dinner clubs and other special events. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.1/10 - Popularity: 66% | Activity: 49% | Freshness: 9% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Kitchen](https://www.trendhunter.com/kitchen) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Bespoke IKEA Designs:** The trend of customizing affordable IKEA furniture to create unique designs presents opportunities for companies like Hølte to offer bespoke cabinet fronts, handles, and worktops. - **DIY Furniture Hacking:** The DIY trend of hacking furniture, particularly IKEA products, opens up opportunities for companies like Hølte to provide assistance and elevate the functionality and aesthetics of these affordable pieces. - **Community-focused Spaces:** The rise of community-focused spaces within retail stores, like Hølte's studio and showroom, allows companies to host events, workshops, and special events, creating an engaging and interactive environment for consumers. ### Who This Affects Most - **Furniture Design:** The furniture design industry can capitalize on the trend of customizing IKEA furniture by offering unique and specialized components that enhance the overall design and functionality of the products. - **Home Improvement:** The home improvement industry can leverage the DIY furniture hacking trend by providing tools, resources, and tutorials for consumers to easily customize and personalize their furniture, such as IKEA kitchens. - **Event Planning:** Event planning industry professionals can tap into the community-focused spaces trend by partnering with companies like Hølte to host events, workshops, and pop-ups, offering unique experiences for attendees. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Refurbished London Victorian Townhomes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/br-house.md) - [Bespoke Interior Design Services](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/interior-design-service.md) - [Premium Kitchen Pranks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/eureka-spiritis.md) - [Hyper-Customizable Desks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hypercustomizable-desk.md) - [AI Room Designers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ikea-canada-2.md) - [Modern Furniture Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ikea-revealed.md) - [Workplace-Integrated Store Locations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hejworkshop.md) - [Incredibly Vibrant Homeware Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vibrant-homeware.md) - [Manipulated Wood Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/snickeriet.md)
