The architect conceived the project alongside Gordon Chadwick who helped to construct all of the home's personalized elements. Nelson's Kirkpatrick House has recently undergone a renovation and has been restored to its original state by current owner David Corner. Corner's project took ten years to complete and showcases the home's history and distinctive beauty. Though vintage in its visual aesthetic, the custom house design is injected with modern accents throughout its interior. The designer residence also features vast views of its surrounding topography and is fitted with a set of custom furnishings from the likes of Eames and George Nelson himself. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.7/10 - Popularity: 34% | Activity: 8% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Modernized Custom House Designs:** Opportunity to blend vintage aesthetics with modern accents in custom house designs. - **Restoration of Architectural Projects:** Opportunity to restore historical architectural projects to their original state. - **Custom Furnishings in Designer Residences:** Opportunity to incorporate custom furnishings from renowned designers in designer residences. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Architecture and Interior Design:** Opportunity for architects and interior designers to create modernized custom house designs. - **Historical Preservation:** Opportunity for professionals in the historical preservation industry to restore architectural projects. - **Furniture and Home Decor:** Opportunity for furniture and home decor companies to provide custom furnishings for designer residences. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Streamlined Modern Residences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/norton-house.md) - [Mid-Century Modern Historical Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lark-house.md) - [Mid-Century Renovated Canadian Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/erica-colpitts.md) - [Mid-Century Holistic Home Restorations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cm-g1-house.md) - [Renewed Heritage Estates](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kilmory-house.md) - [Mid-Century Remodeled Seattle Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gordon-walker-house.md) - [Mid-Century Californian Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/studio-schcketanz.md) - [Charming Home Renovation Projects](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/works-office.md) - [Modern Heritage Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/denton-reserve.md)
