# Wind-Blown Bouquet Holders A Curved Vase was Inspired by the Arching Shapes of Costal Trees By Amelia Roblin | Published 2015-03-26 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/curved-vase References: [designspotter](http://www.designspotter.com/product/2015/03/Storm.html) & [ralstonbau](http://www.ralstonbau.com/project/storm/) That surreal shape that trees take when they're constantly pressured by the gale-force winds of sea coasts is symbolized by this collection of [curved vases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/black-hole-vase). With inspiration taken specifically from the forests in west Norway, Ralston & Bau wanted to celebrate the power of nature and the Scandinavian landscape through decorative household objects. [Clear glass was cast](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/magnus-collection) into three stem holders of various widths, all embodying a similar organic curvature. Escaping from openings on roughly 30-degree angles, the [flowers and greenery](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/le-verre-bonbon) that you display in these Storm Vases splay out and slump down as if they've been wind-blown themselves. The transparent material enables you to see the complete graceful shapes of the arching stocks. Straight up vases have been done millions of time, so this asymmetric design is unique and visually intriguing. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.7/10 - Popularity: 68% | Activity: 36% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Organic Curvature Vases:** Designing vases with organic curvature can lead to unique and visually intriguing products. - **Transparent Glass Vases:** Transparent glass vases enable the complete graceful shapes of plants to be seen. - **Nature-inspired Decor:** Bringing nature-inspiration into home decor products can be a disruptive innovation opportunity. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Home Decor:** Designing organic curvature vases can create visually intriguing home decor products. - **Glassware Manufacturing:** Creating transparent glass vases requires expert knowledge in glassware manufacturing. - **Floristry:** Using unique asymmetric vases can provide disruptive innovation opportunities for florists to elevate floral arrangements. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Delicate Colorful Vases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/delicate-colorful-vase.md) - [Modern Totem-Like Vases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/totemlike-vases.md) - [Nature-Inspired Colorful Glass Vases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/anemona.md) - [Ocean-Inspired Home Decor](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ceramic-coralshaped-vase.md) - [Floating Stem Vases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lotus-effect-vase.md) - [Sculptural Glass Vases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/navazi.md) - [Minimalist Illusory Vases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vaso-gota-vase.md) - [Connection-Inspired X-Shaped Vases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vaax.md) - [Sculptural Hand-Blown Vases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/handblown-vase.md)
