This chair and couch set are designed after curved rails, which gives them a look all their own. [Curvy seating](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/meridiani) has been on the scene for some time now, but [curved rail couches and chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wire-chair-concept) like the ones in Curve from Darko Nikolic are definitely fresh ideas. Designers are increasingly pulling their inspiration from nontraditional sources, which is leading to [bizarre and cool furniture concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/atypical-chair) like Curve. If this is the future of furniture, then I'm all in. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.0/10 - Popularity: 30% | Activity: 53% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Curved Rail Furniture:** Designing furniture after curved rails leads to fresh and unique ideas like 'Curve' from Darko Nikolic. - **Nontraditional Design Inspiration:** Designers are increasingly pulling inspiration from nontraditional sources, leading to bizarre and cool furniture concepts like Curve. - **Innovative Seating Designs:** Curvy seating has been on the scene for some time, but furniture concepts like Curve showcase opportunities for disruptive innovation in seating design. ### Who This Affects Most - **Furniture:** The use of nontraditional design elements, such as curved rails, presents an opportunity for disruption in the furniture industry. - **Interior Design:** Nontraditional design inspiration and unique furniture concepts like Curve can disrupt the traditional norms of interior design. - **Product Design:** Innovative seating designs like Curve showcase opportunities for disruptive innovation in the product design space. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Modern Curvy Furniture Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/curvy-furniture-design.md) - [Storage-Centric Minimal Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kurve-furniture.md) - [Oblong Color-Blocked Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/meritalia-morphologica-collection.md) - [Structurally Complex Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-arch-chair.md) - [Rope-Like Dynamic Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/caterpillar-lounge.md) - [Repetitive Curvaceous Seating Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/colle-sofa.md) - [Ultra-Comfy Seating Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cushy-lounge-chair.md) - [Tubular Organic-Formed Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/loopy-chair.md) - [Curvaceous Padded Lounge Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/talk-chair.md)
