Rodolfo Wiedmaier Delorenzo created the Curacautin Lake House with views of the Llaima volcano in Chile.

The home features a unique design that pulls inspiration from the surrounding volcanic rock, with a dark exterior that is simple and geometric, clad in black galvanized steel. Using recycled native wood, the space has a warm interior that contrasts from the harsh exterior. Organized around a central living area, the floorplan was created to bring the family together in a soft and comforting environment. The large skylight fills the double-height main room with natural light that opens up the space and shows off all of the intricate wood features throughout.

The large panels of glazing give the Curacautin Lake House expansive views of the stunning natural landscape, while the rooftop patio provides easy sightseeing of the Araucania Mountain range.
