The cubic house was built as an extension to an existing home in a residential area in Quito, Ecuador and features a bedroom and a small social area. While not very large, the unique guest house is beautiful, modern and has elements of Ecuadorian interior design. The walls of the house are made from [gray concrete](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/house-in-serra), giving the house the appearance of a bunker but with an interesting twist. The floors and ceilings are made of wood which counters the effect of the concrete to give the house a warm and welcoming appearance. The private cubic house melds nicely into the surrounding nature and its unique qualities make it the perfect guest home. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.3/10 - Popularity: 90% | Activity: 90% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, South America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Architecture](https://www.trendhunter.com/architecture) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Modern Cubic Architecture:** The rise of modern cubic architecture has opened up opportunities for the development of new materials and construction techniques. - **Small Footprint Living:** The trend towards smaller, more efficient living spaces has created new markets for prefabricated and modular homes. - **Integration of Nature in Architecture:** Incorporating nature into design, especially in residential areas, presents the opportunity for biophilic design principles and eco-friendly innovations. ### Who This Affects Most - **Construction and Architecture:** The demand for modern cubic homes presents disruptive innovation opportunities for sustainable building materials and design innovations. - **Prefabricated Homes:** With the trend towards smaller living spaces, the prefabricated and modular home industry stands to benefit from a growing market. - **Green Building and Design:** Integrating nature into home design provides an opportunity for green building and eco-friendly innovations. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Sustainable Cubic Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/appels-architekten.md) - [Contemporary Adaptable Concrete House](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/binocular-house.md) - [Geometric Structural Forest Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/c-house.md) - [Tree-Centered Cubic Home Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tonalli-house.md) - [Landscape-Blending Concrete Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/el-pastizal.md) - [Modern Mobile Futuristic Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nestron.md) - [Castle-Inspired Cylindrical Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/casa-del-tec.md) - [Hillside Concrete Retreats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/concrete-house-1.md) - [Communal Concrete Home Projects](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/house-c.md)
