# Cubist Cartoon Makeovers 'Cube Dudes' by Angus Maclane Features LEGO Pop Culture Icons By Annie Ho | Published 2010-05-06 | Pop Culture Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cube-dudes-by-angus-maclane References: [lostateminor](http://www.lostateminor.com/2010/05/06/cube-dudes-famous-people-made-from-lego/) & [lego](http://www.lego.com/en-US/default.aspx) These 'Cube Dudes' by Angus Maclane represent the artist's [LEGO](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lego-campbells-soup) interpretation of pop culture icons. From Bruce Lee to [Homer Simpson](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-simpsons-krusty-burger), Maclane has the heavy hitters covered, but there is also a LEGO sculpture of Aang from 'Avatar: The Last Air Bender.' Even though most of the [LEGO sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dancing-hula-girl) in 'Cube Dudes' by Angus Maclane are not detailed, the artist still created something that's easily recognizable, especially for pop culture aficionados. **Implications** - My favorite of the bunch has got to be the Btman figure as it mimics the classic blue and gray Batman costume of the '60s, which I'm still very fond of to this day. Plus, Angus Maclane even included a mini Robin figure to go along with it. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.3/10 - Popularity: 66% | Activity: 56% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 90% men, 10% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Pop Culture](https://www.trendhunter.com/popculture) > [Media](https://www.trendhunter.com/media) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Cubist LEGO Sculptures:** The trend of creating Cubist interpretations of popular icons and characters using LEGO blocks provides opportunities for developing new artistic styles and collectibles. - **Pop Culture Influenced Art:** As artists continue to create works inspired by pop culture, there are opportunities for creating unique and creative products that appeal to a broad customer base. - **Minimalistic Art:** Creating recognizable sculptures with minimal details creates openings for new interpretations of classic characters and icons. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Toy and Collectibles Industry:** Companies can take advantage of the popularity of LEGO and Cubist sculptures by creating new collectibles and toys that appeal to a broad range of consumers. - **Art Industry:** The trend of creating LEGO sculptors inspired by pop culture provides new opportunities for artists to showcase their creativity and gain a wider audience for their work. - **Digital Content Industry:** As the trend of Cubist LEGO sculptures continues to grow, there are opportunities for digital content creators to develop new animated shows and films that feature these unique characters and interpretations. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Pop Art Factory Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lego-campbells-soup.md) - [Iconic Artist Toy Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lego-ideas-bob-ross.md) - [Reimagined Epic Battle Dioramas](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lego-diorama.md) - [Fandom-Honoring Building Block Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fandomhonoring-building-block-sets.md) - [Superhero-Themed DIY Art Kits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/jim-lee-batman.md) - [3D Superhero Block-Puzzle Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/amazing-spiderman-set.md) - [Building Block Musician Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/daft-punk-lego-helmets.md) - [Building Block-Inspired Suitcases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lego-luggage.md) - [Reimagined Puzzled Artful Paintings](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/portrait-of-a-woman-in-a-hat.md)
