Doherty Design Studio has gone above and beyond youngsters' expectations to construct a contemporary kiddie oasis. The white slat-walled space is sun-filled, thanks to a transparent vaulted roof. Past the pivoting circular doors, children can lounge in a mesh loft, store their toys and books in the [colorful shelving](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wired-scape) and play house in a setting that entirely enchants adults as well. The Vardo Hut cubby house was made for the Flower & Garden Show in Melbourne, to be auctioned off in support of a charity to stop child homelessness. It's the sort of space that kids will want to move into full-time, and the ideal atmosphere to inspire imaginative play. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.9/10 - Popularity: 85% | Activity: 54% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Alpha - Top markets: North America, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Transparent Vaulted Roofs:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop sustainable and energy-efficient transparent roof materials for residential and commercial buildings. - **Contemporary Kiddie Oasis:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Design and create innovative and interactive play spaces for children that combine aesthetics and functionality. - **Imaginative Play Spaces:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop augmented reality or virtual reality technologies that enhance imaginative play experiences for children. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Architectural Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Integrate smart home technology into architectural designs for a more holistic and connected living environment. - **Childcare and Education:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Incorporate gamification and interactive learning approaches in childcare and educational settings to foster creativity and engagement. - **Charity and Non-profit:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Utilize emerging technologies like blockchain to enhance transparency and efficiency in charitable organizations. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Tent‑Filled Daycare Spaces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/deya-day-care.md) - [Curvaceous Artful Play Pavilions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/play-pavilion.md) - [Vibrantly Artful Playful Pavilions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/play-pavilion-1.md) - [Sandbox-Like Modular Storage Cabinets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/modular-storage-cabinet1.md) - [Children-Designed Pavilions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hi-ladders-high.md) - [Adaptive Backyard Studios](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/love-shack-1.md) - [Landmark-Inspired Sleek Playgrounds](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/doha-modern-playground.md) - [Transforming Imaginative Furniture Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kiddie-couch.md) - [Abstract Fantasy Home Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/abstract-fantasy-home.md)
