# World Statistic Lighting The CSIS Global Data Chandelier is Illuminatingly Informative By Meghan Young | Published 2014-01-10 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/csis-global-data-chandelier References: [psfk](http://www.psfk.com/2014/01/data-chandelier-display-light.html) & [csis.org](http://csis.org/) It is only natural that the CSIS Global Data Chandelier, which hangs from the ceiling in the lobby of the [Center for Strategic and International Studies](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/quagsire-mini), would be as informative as it is illuminating. A [chic design](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bauhaus-sunset-lamp), it displays global data statistics such as GDP growth rate, renewable water resources and energy consumption while lighting up the atrium as though it were a constellation of stars as well. It even corresponds to events within the building. Created by Sosolimited, Hypersonic Engineering & Design, Plebian Design, and Chris Parlato, the CSIS Global Data Chandelier is a one of a kind [light fixture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/baccarat-x-harry-nuriev). The data sets it pulls from the web are updated on an annual or quarterly basis. The entire system is automated, which is completely convenient. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.0/10 - Popularity: 35% | Activity: 76% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Data Visualization:** The CSIS Global Data Chandelier showcases the growing trend of using data visualization as a means of conveying information in a visually engaging way. - **Interactive Design:** The CSIS Global Data Chandelier exemplifies the trend of interactive design, where technology and aesthetics come together to create immersive experiences that captivate and inform. - **Smart Lighting:** The CSIS Global Data Chandelier highlights the trend of smart lighting, where lighting fixtures not only provide illumination but also incorporate advanced features such as data integration and event-based responses. ### Who This Affects Most - **Data Analytics:** The CSIS Global Data Chandelier presents an opportunity for data analytics companies to explore innovative ways of visualizing and presenting data in real-time, creating new insights and enhancing decision-making processes. - **Interior Design:** The CSIS Global Data Chandelier opens up avenues for interior design firms to incorporate technology-driven installations that transform spaces into interactive visual experiences, merging art and functionality. - **Smart Home Technology:** The CSIS Global Data Chandelier highlights the potential of integrating smart lighting solutions into smart homes, allowing homeowners to personalize their spaces with dynamic and data-driven lighting displays. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Modular Lighting Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/crystal-links.md) - [Dynamic Artful Light Fixtures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ghost-chandelier.md) - [Sculptural Contemporary Chandeliers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/volant.md) - [Sculptural Glass Chandeliers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tamar-grande-chandelier.md) - [Otherworldly Lighting Fixture Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/otherworldly-lighting-fixture.md) - [Dynamic Interactive Lighting Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/zava.md) - [Plant-Inspired Dynamic Chandeliers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/blossom-chandelier.md) - [Horizontal Glass Sphere Lighting](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/comet-pendant.md) - [Ethereal Oil Lamp Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/a-realm-of-light.md)
