Perth artist, Laura Adel Johnson, [illuminates her portraits with lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shapes-of-light)! Her work is currently showing at the Chalk Horse Gallery in Sydney, Australia and this [multimedia artist](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/multimedia-art-installation) is getting rave reviews. "I'm interested in incorporating everyday, common-place objects into my art works," Johnson said. "I like to use unconventional materials to make drawings that describe or comment on the current social/political environment." I find it interesting that much of her work features people weeping and the medium of light seems to add so much to the emotion of her pieces.
