On several occasions, Trend Hunter has touched upon the subject of how the present economic crisis has affected the fashion industry; Takahiro Miyashita’s outlandish [Fall 2009 collection](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/undercover-5) for Number (N)ine could very easily be construed as being a product of that crisis--even if only symbolically.

Miyashita’s curious creations remind me of the [mismatched wardrobe](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shapes-we-take) of the homeless population that exists in all of the big cities in the USA.

But in addition to the mismatched clothes, all the male models in this collections are wearing [frilly, beekeeper-like black veils](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/biomimicry-fashion) which give these quirky creations a sense of darkness and mystery.
