# Hair-Catching Sink Stoppers Avoid Bathroom Clogging With the Crown Pop-Up by Choi Jongwoo By Summer Luu | Published 2011-05-11 | Updated 2011-05-14 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/crown-pop-up-by-choi-jongwoo References: [yankodesign](http://www.yankodesign.com/2011/05/11/hair-trapping/) & [mypdportfolio.blogspot](http://mypdportfolio.blogspot.com/2010/12/2010-5th-universal-design-award-winner_1768.html) For someone who has long tresses, the Crown Pop-Up by Choi Jongwoo is the perfect item to catch those lengthy strands that get caught in the sink. To avoid these annoying and icky [sink clogs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/luxury-kitchen-sink), the Crown Pop-Up [sink stopper](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wine-stopper-1) is designed like a vine. The "branches" that stick out from underneath the stopper catches all the hair, snagging it before it blocks the pipes. An easy pull-out piece sits atop the plug so that you can conveniently grasp it to clean out the tuft. It's perfect to put in the sink and the tub for [hair brushing](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/unwind-brush) and washing. As I personally have long hair, the Crown Pop-Up by Choi Jongwoo is definitely something I need in my own bathroom. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.0/10 - Popularity: 12% | Activity: 11% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Sink Hair-catching Accessories:** Opportunity for businesses to create innovative sink accessories that catch hair to prevent clogs. - **Easy-to-clean Sink Stoppers:** Opportunity for businesses to create sink stoppers that are easy to clean out and maintain. - **Functional Bathroom Accessories:** Opportunity for businesses to create accessories that serve a functional purpose in the bathroom. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Bathroom Fixture Manufacturers:** Opportunity for bathroom fixture manufacturers to create innovative sink accessories that catch hair to prevent clogs. - **Plumbing and Drain Cleaning Services:** Opportunity for plumbing and drain cleaning services to market and install easy-to-clean sink stoppers for customers. - **Home Decor and Interior Design Companies:** Opportunity for home decor and interior design companies to incorporate functional bathroom accessories into their designs and offerings. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Filtered Tub Spouts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bath-haus.md) - [Cheeky Bathroom Plungers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/stylish-plunger.md) - [Beautifying Water Filters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/faucet-filter.md) - [Multi-Filtration Shower Heads](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/act-acre-showerhead-filter.md) - [Aesthetic Bathroom Plungers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-plunger.md) - [Sink Top Garbage Disposals](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/garbage-disposal1.md) - [Water-Saving Bathroom Capsules](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bergvattnet.md) - [Elegant Kitchen Sink Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kitchen-sink-system.md) - [Conceptual Hands-Free Hair Dryers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pillar-handsfree.md)
