The bowl features a handy swirled cut out that the string can be pulled through as it unwinds from the ball of yarn. Each bowl also has a creative depiction of a pop culture reference from television or a cult classic movie to add a personalized touch to the piece. The bowls are ideal to help with [knitting crafts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/craft-starter-kit) thanks to a design that helps knitters carefully pull string from the yarn ball and keep it untangled as they make their own socks, sweaters, scarves and other accessories. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.2/10 - Popularity: 50% | Activity: 39% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 10% men, 90% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Mess-free Crafting:** There is an opportunity to create mess-free crafting products like the ceramic Nerdy Knitting Bowls. - **Personalized Crafting:** Personalized bowls with popular culture references can be the next big trend in crafting supplies. - **Functional Art Craft:** There is an opportunity for the creation of artful crafts that have dual functionality like the Nerdy Knitting Bowls. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Craft Supply Industry:** Nerdy Knitting Bowls can be a game-changer in the craft supply industry as a mess-free and personalized alternative for craft lovers. - **Home Decor Industry:** Nerdy Knitting Bowls can become a unique and functional piece of home decor that combines art with practicality. - **Art Industry:** Combining art with functionality as demonstrated by Lenny Mud's Nerdy Knitting Bowls presents an opportunity to create artful crafts that can be used in everyday life. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Artful Cast-Metal Bowls](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/curling-bowl.md) - [Retro-Inspired Wave Bowls](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/retro-wave-bowl.md) - [Playful Crochet Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/crochet-collection.md) - [Miniature Pottery Wheels](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/uniek-pottery.md) - [Holiday Crafting Kits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sculpd.md) - [Dynamic Colored Glass Bowls](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tip-top-glass.md) - [Imperfect Pasta Bowl Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pasta-bowl.md) - [Video Game Crochet Kits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/woobles-pacman-crochet-kit.md) - [Display-Centric Dynamic Fruit Bowls](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/circuit.md)
