I really don’t care what color it is, or how it’s decorated, as long as it does what it’s supposed to do. But when I saw this [Green Beetle USB Mouse](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/murder-hornet-ring) from scientificsonline, well, I remained unimpressed. These preserved bugs are real and they come embedded in a clear plastic encasement so the insects can be seen in all their colorful and creepy glory. If you don’t like green beetles, you can pick other [creepy specimens such as spiders](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bug-table) and even starfish. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.2/10 - Popularity: 34% | Activity: 25% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Gadgets](https://www.trendhunter.com/gadgets) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Insect-embedded Computer Gear:** Insect-embedded computer gear is disrupting the market for personalized computer accessories. - **Preserved Bug Collectibles:** Preserved bug collectibles are a new, niche trend in the novelty gift market. - **Bio-inspired Computer Accessories:** Bio-inspired computer accessories like the Green Beetle USB Mouse offer potential for disruptive innovation in both the technology and fashion industries. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Personalized Computer Accessories:** The personalized computer accessories industry could benefit from offering insect-embedded gear like the Green Beetle USB Mouse as a unique selling point. - **Novelty Gift Market:** The novelty gift market could capitalize on the trend of preserved bug collectibles by offering a variety of specimens for purchase. - **Technology and Fashion Industries:** Both the technology and fashion industries could explore new bio-inspired products, such as the Green Beetle USB Mouse, to offer consumers unique and innovative accessories. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Honeycomb-Inspired PC Peripherals](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/keyboard-and-mouse-design.md) - [Bug-Inspired Portable SSDs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/beetle-x31.md) - [Pine Cone-Inspired Mouses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/treemouse.md) - [Aesthetically-Pleasing Computer Peripherals](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dune-mouse.md) - [Sushi-Inspired Computer Mouses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/moushi-mouse.md) - [Baroque-Style PC Peripherals](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ornamental-msi-mouse.md) - [Steampunk Multifunctional Computer Mouse](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/d-mouse.md) - [Ergonomic See-Through Computer Mice](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lunar-artefacts-pointer-instrument.md) - [Minimalist Shell-Like Mice](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fabio-verdelli-design-studio.md)
