# Chaotic Storage Credenzas The 'Chaos' Credenza Cabinet Makes Use of Hard and Soft Materials By Michael Hemsworth | Published 2016-10-25 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/credenza-cabinet References: [yankodesign](http://www.yankodesign.com/2016/10/25/organized-chaos/) & [tevasq](http://www.tevasq.com/) Drawing inspiration from the Chaos Theory, the 'Chaos' credenza cabinet is designed to offer [storage space](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tamo) in a much more relaxed way. Designed by Alessandro Criscito, the 'Chaos' credenza features a facade that's crafted using elastic bands to create a somewhat chaotic impression when admired straight on. The elastic bands enable a person to slide and extend them to fit items within to eliminate the need for [traditional doors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/berto-hidden-secrets) or glass panels. The 'Chaos' credenza cabinet allows the items stored within the appear somewhat fragmented and scattered from the outside to further reinforce the Chaos Theory connection. This allows a space to incorporate the furniture piece without appearing too formal or rigid as some furniture pieces can come across. Better yet, it allows for a wide array of different styles and methods to be played with to create a look that's inherently unique. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.5/10 - Popularity: 99% | Activity: 88% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: South America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Chaos-inspired Furniture:** Incorporating chaos theory into furniture pieces can create a unique and relaxed look. - **Elastic Band Facades:** Using elastic bands as facades for furniture pieces can eliminate the need for traditional doors or glass panels. - **Fragmented Storage Spaces:** Creating fragmented storage spaces using elastic bands can provide furniture pieces with a more flexible and unique appearance. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Furniture:** Furniture companies can incorporate elastic bands into their designs to create unique storage solutions inspired by chaos theory. - **Interior Design:** Interior designers can incorporate chaos-inspired furniture pieces into their designs to add a relaxed and unconventional element to a space. - **Home Organization:** Companies specializing in home organization can use fragmented storage spaces to provide customers with flexible and customizable storage options. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Offset Shelf Sideboards](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/crazy-slice-sideboard-concept.md) - [Sandbox-Like Modular Storage Cabinets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/modular-storage-cabinet1.md) - [Curvaceous Storage-Packed Sideboards](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/embrace-sideboard.md) - [Modular Storage Cabinets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/modular-storage-cabinet.md) - [Twisting CGI-Designed Sideboards](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bookscrew-sideboard.md) - [Thoughtful Wheeling Cabinets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cabinet-on-wheels.md) - [Tropical Island-Inspired Cabinets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/weaver-cabinet.md) - [Colorful Modular Storage Sysem](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/center-center-storage.md) - [Sculptural Living Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cromatica.md)
